The Ayrshire coastline has always been a huge source of inspiration for my work, and Ailsa Craig is one of those views that never loses its magic for me. Standing on the beach near Ayr, watching the changing light over the sea and the waves rolling gently onto the shore, there’s always a sense of calm and space that I try to capture in my paintings.
In this original acrylic seascape, I wanted to reflect the peaceful atmosphere of Scotland’s west coast — the deep blues of the sea, the softness of the clouds, and the quiet presence of Ailsa Craig sitting on the horizon. My aim was not only to paint the landscape itself, but also the feeling of being there in that moment.
This contemporary Scottish seascape painting has been created using acrylics on a deep edged boxed canvas and is ready to hang unframed. The calming coastal colours and timeless Scottish scenery make it a beautiful piece for anyone who loves the sea, Ayrshire landscapes, or contemporary coastal interiors.
As a Scottish artist based in Ayr, much of my artwork is inspired by the natural beauty of the Scottish coastline and the sense of peace it brings.
